The Map!

Is the map as useful as it first seemed? Perhaps one or more of the suspects have moved address – are we sure which address they actually do reside at? 

While the gate log accurately lists addresses within the gated community do we know where these roads actually are given not all of the roads are labelled?

Have you asked yourself if this even matters? You should….!

While we know where Carol lived and died does having addresses actually tell us where the suspects were at the time of the murder?

No! Of course it doesn’t! Well done if you saw through this – it really doesn’t matter where anyone lives in this case, what matters is who was in Carol’s home at the time of her murder. The rest is mere noise.

How to crack a code…..

On December 22nd you are going to find that Lenny uses a shifting cipher to speak in code. If you’re not sure how to decipher this read on 🙂

A shift cipher is basically created when a person uses a shifted version of the alphabet to create a message.

For example ‘hello’ in a one shift cipher becomes ‘ifmmp’ 

The letter I comes one space after H in the alphabet so is used as code and so on…

Where are the suspects?

The most important thing you need to do after working out the time of death is work out where the suspects were at this time.

How do we do that?

Weed out the suspects who, by now, we know were elsewhere

We know the remaining suspects were in the club during the late evening but what time did they arrive?

We can work this out by looking at the bank statements included in the December 23rd evidence.

How handy that two of the suspects paid for most of the group to get in!!

Look at the payment information – what does this tell you?

Did you spot the advert for the nightclub in the newspaper? Look closely at this and you will soon be able to see who was safely in the club prior to the murder and who arrived after.

Who was in the later group I hear one or two of you cry…well go back to the choir meeting secretly recorded by Adam and pay attention this time!

Who among that latter group did not have an alibi?
